For most of my adult life, I struggled with stress-eating and my weight moving up and down. I would constantly berate myself because I wasn’t happy with how I looked and how I felt. I just wanted to feel confident and good in my body. When I was stressed I ate all the pasta and chocolate until I gained weight and my jeans didn't close anymore. Then I tried diet after diet to get rid of this weight again! I tried eating less, counting calories, exercising more and harder. I did Keto, juice cleanses, 1200 calories per day… You name it, I tried it!
Each time I went on a new diet, I got excited because I thought “this time will be different - this is the diet I will stick with for the rest of my life.” And things would start off positive in that I lost weight. And I had that amazing feeling of fitting into my favorite jeans again and buying new, smaller clothes that I felt great in. But all the while I was suffering on these diets. I was hungry and deprived. I was grumpy! And as soon as my life got busy again, I was forgetting about the diet of the month.
But that’s not the worst part.
The worst part is that when I went off each diet, I thought I still eat healthy but I gave myself more wiggle room (#cheatday) with what I ate and how much. And that’s when the weight came back on… every_single_ time!

My low point was a few months after quarantine started when I realized that I had gained all the weight back and THEN some.
That’s when I decided that there HAD to be a better way.
The good thing was, that I started to study Ayurveda - a sister science of yoga - that focuses on creating healthy habits and a good and strong digestion. I learned how to heal my metabolism so I could not only lose the weight, but keep it off for good.
I finally felt freedom with food and my body, and I learned how to eat and take care of myself that felt nurturing, rather than punishment.
